Ingredients Breakdown for Chicken Breast 3 ways Recipes

1. Creamy Cheesy Chicken Bake

  • Chicken breast fillets: Chicken breast fillets are ideal for baking. You can also use chicken thighs, but it will take a little more time to bake.
  • Salt & black pepper: Salt and pepper will add a savory and peppery flavor to the chicken.
  • Sweet paprika: Sweet paprika adds a sweet and mildly spicy kick to the dish.
  • Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise is the creamy element of this bake. Since the mayonnaise itself is tangy, sweet, and savory at the same time, give lots of flavor to the dish. Also, you can swap it with any vegan-based mayonnaise as well.
  • Olive oil: Oil will help in cooking and browning the chicken.
  • Mozzarella string cheese: String cheese will give the cheesy stretch to the bake. We are using the mozzarella string cheese because it is almost always available in everyone’s pantry. You can use any melty cheese of your choice, like fresh mozzarella.
  • Cheddar slices: It adds a sharp cheddar flavor. Again, you can swap it with any other savory cheeses.
  • Potatoes: We are using potatoes as the base of the bake. Potatoes will roast with the chicken drippings, making them delicious.

2. Juicy Chicken & Tomato Bake

  • Onion: The onion adds an oniony kick to the dish.
  • Olive oil: Olive oil will help in cooking everything without overpowering the flavors of the olive itself.
  • Salt & black pepper: Salt and pepper will make the dish savory and peppery.
  • Potatoes: Potatoes give the roasted and earthy taste to the dish when baked.
  • Chicken fillets: We are cutting the chicken into strips for this bake recipe.
  • Sweet paprika: Sweet paprika adds a mild spicy and sweet flavor.
  • Tomatoes: Tomatoes add an acidic taste that cuts through the earthy flavors of potatoes and the cheesy creaminess of the bake.
  • Muenster cheese: Muenster cheese is a semi-soft cheese with a buttery flavor and smooth texture. It is super melty, ideal for this bake. You can use a mix of cheeses as a variation as well.
  • Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise adds a creamy element to the base.

3. Crispy Parmesan Chicken & Potato Skillet

  • Chicken breast: We are using chicken breast, but you can use chicken thighs also.
  • Salt: Of course, we don’t want our chicken and crust batter to be bland.
  • Black pepper: It adds a mild peppery kick to the dish.
  • Garlic powder: Garlic powder gives the spicy, garlicky kick to the chicken.
  • Sweet paprika: It gives the chicken a sweet and mildly spicy flavor.
  • Mayonnaise: It creates a golden crust and keeps the chicken incredibly juicy inside.
  • Potatoes: We are grating potatoes to make the crust for the chicken. Also, grate as finely as possible for the potatoes to cook through and stick to the chicken.
  • Egg: Egg will work as a binder for the crust.
  • Flour: Flour is the base of the crust batter. It will make everything come together as one and super crispy, too.
  • Parmesan: Grated parmesan adds a delicious cheesy zing to the chicken.
  • Olive oil: We are using olive oil for frying the chicken. You can swap it with any oil of your choice.

Instructions for "Crispy Parmesan Chicken & Potato Skillet"

  1. Prep and Setup

    • Peel and grate the potatoes into thin shreds.
    • Place shredded potatoes into a bowl.
    • Crack an egg into a separate bowl and whisk lightly.
    • Pat the chicken breast dry, ready for seasoning.
Keep potatoes in cold water for a minute to prevent browning, then pat dry well before cooking.
  1. Season both sides of the chicken breast with ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper, ½ tsp garlic powder, and ½ tsp sweet paprika.

  1. Spread 3 tsp of mayonnaise all over the chicken breast.

  2. In a bowl, combine grated potatoes, whisked egg, 1 tbsp flour, 2 tbsp Parmesan, and salt and pepper.
  3. Mix until everything is coated and sticks together.
The mixture should be moist but not watery. Add a bit more flour if it seems too loose.
  4. Press the mayo-coated chicken breast into the potato-Parmesan mixture.
  5. Ensure both sides are fully covered.
  6. Press firmly — this helps the coating crisp evenly in the pan.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Once hot, gently place the coated chicken into the pan.
  9. Cook 5–7 minutes per side, until golden, crispy, and fully cooked through.
Don’t rush — slow-medium heat ensures the potatoes turn perfectly crispy without burning. Internal chicken temperature should reach 75°C / 165°F.
  10. Remove chicken from the pan and let it rest for 2 minutes.
  11. Slice into strips to reveal the juicy inside and crispy potato crust.
